As we said earlier in the article “How to make a successful negotiation,” Negotiation is important not to jeopardize the relationship between the negotiating parties.

When the negotiating parties according to their respective bargaining positions, there is a conflict of wills. And when more than two companies, which is normal in any negotiation, the harder it is to hear and not hurt the relationship.

Usually, there are two modes or forms of negotiation: Bargaining and Soft negotiation.

The soft negotiator, trying to avoid conflict and, therefore, made concessions to reach an agreement. Try to be friendly eventually gives in order to reach an agreement. For difficult cases, everything is a struggle of wills, in which the most resistant in their position is one that wins the negotiation. But this leads to the exhaustion and wear that ruin your true interests and objectives of the negotiations.

There are other techniques of negotiation, which are not necessarily, or hard or soft.

Trading method developed at Harvard University focuses on the decision on the merits of each issue, rather than a process of bargaining focused on what each side wants to or not..
